Bend Oregon Real Estate Sellers | Keep Your Home Showable in Winter

Bend Home in Snow Bend Home in Snow

Bend Oregon real estate continues to be sold even during winter. Some sellers do take their property off the market during the winter months, but for those who don't, there are buyers interested in purchasing Bend homes. For those sellers who are willing to keep their listings going in the winter, there are several items which need to be addressed to optimize the opportunities for buyers to see and fall in love with the property.

  1. First, make sure the sidewalk, entry and driveway are shoveled and as free from snow as possible. It is very difficult to show a home if the buyers and selling Broker have to beat their own path through the snow to the front door.
  2. Provide a rug both outside and inside the front door for buyers to wipe the snow and moisture off their feet. Buyers don't typically want to track snow through a home, but if there is no easy way to remove snow from shoes or boots, sellers should expect water to be left on their hardwood floors and carpets.
  3. Provide booties and a place to sit near the front door so buyers can cover their wet shoes and avoid getting floors wet, and potentially slipping and falling. Buyers often get cold walking from their car to the home and may not want to walk around a house in stocking feet. Providing booties is a great way to keep a seller's floor free from water and shows buyers the seller is trying to accommodate them.
  4. Have a lovely fire going to increase the "welcome home" feeling of the property.
