4 Tools to Help You Find Your Dream Home

Written by Posted On Thursday, 19 October 2017 01:55

Except you enjoy walking from house to house doing 360 degrees hunting tours and speaking to different agents, we can both agree that house hunting is a nightmare.

Comes with a lot of stress you wouldn't naturally want to go through if you weren't in need of a home. Thanks to modern technology however, buying a home is now a lot easier.

While there are no substitutes for checking out houses in person, you can go with an easier and faster route and get it done from the comfort of your home.

Interested in breezing through the purchase of your new home with real estate tools that provide you with details of the property, access to floor plans and images? Let’s get started with these 5:

1. Trulia

Although there are lots of real estate sites you can use, Trulia has proven itself the best over time with its unique features, making it a bit more informative than the others.

Not only does it help you fish out your dream home, you can also use its "heat map" to get information on local crimes, probability of natural disasters, schools in the area and so much more. It's available as a mobile app for your utmost convenience.

2. Doorsteps Swipe

Doorsteps Swipe looks more like Tinder, has this date-like feel to it. All you do is set up a profile for yourself and input the necessary stats and preferences.

This will enhance your home search, bringing only what's best for you in relation to the preferences provided.

After creating the profile and putting in the stats, some properties that fit into the picture will pop up and you'll start to click a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" button while the list of your potential home begins to build up.

To be more specific, you can input your financial situation – amount of salary earned – and expected down payment.

3. Zillow

Zillow provides statistics and information on available houses in a snapshot version.

It comes with an interactive map, home value estimates, gives you access to see listings in the neighbourhood of your choice and shows you reports on home values and trends.

If you’re in love with Texas, for example, and would love to get your dream home in one of its beautiful cities, you can simply search for "South Lake Tahoe Home Values" on Zillow and you’ll get an estimate.

The app is available for use to everyone but you get full access when you register.

4. Homesnap

Personally, I can't wait to buy a home using Homesnap. Imagine just walking past a potential dream home and taking a picture of it using Homesnap. You'll then get details of the house, including sales history, market information, aerial view photos, interior home features and so much more – without actually walking through the front door.

When you're done, you can save and bookmark your searches. You can also choose to get alerts through your mail.

No house can be that good enough that you decide to settle on it on your first attempt at house hunting – no, I doubt it.

Touring a broad choice is part of the culture if you intend on getting a good home anyway, one that fits your budget and is perfect for your family.

The same should be applied when using the above apps. You can download some or even all and select that which works the best for you.
