Downtown San Diego-Convenience in Paradise!
Downtown San Diego has 8 districts with 80 different complexes. Each district has its own unique feel and vibe. We know all of the districts and have been in all of the buildings. Depending on your needs and wants, there is a spot for everyone in our great community!
Today, we will focus on the thriving East Village Area:
East Village is the largest urban neighborhood in downtown San Diego, encompassing 130 blocks between 7th Avenue to 18th Street and City College to Harbor Drive. The thriving urban enclave is home to more than 700 businesses including restaurants, hotels, and art galleries.
Anchored by the home of the San Diego Padre’s PETCO Park, opened in 2004, downtown San Diego’s East Village is a lively district comprised of parks, schools, commercial buildings and varied condominium projects. The New School of Architecture, San Diego City College, Thomas Jefferson School of Law, San Diego Central Library and numerous art galleries transformed this area. Once occupied by warehouses and vacant lots, East Village is now a cultural and artistic center all its own. As the largest district downtown, East Village is viewed nationally as a template for successful urban revitalization.
The East Village community now has a population of 10,000 (and growing), with most residents living in mid-rise or luxury condominiums and lofts. Continuing urban development and the steady growth of new businesses draws locals from neighboring downtown areas. This is a great area to call home!
