It is very common for plumbers in the U.S.A. to use SEO to obtain more Internet business. Authorized and protected plumbing builders who specialize in repair service are giving up conventional means of acquiring new clients like print advertising in the yellow pages and taking advantage of significant SOs.

SEO, or search engine optimization, is the way of improving the visibility of a website and webpage in the SE results page (SERP). Let's say the website for your plumbing organization on page 12 for people searching for "Local Plumber." With the proper SEO service, the position can be changed to page 1. This results in a higher call volume since your website now appears on the first page for those looking out for a "Local Plumber."

So, how does a plumber, get these SEO results? Mainly, you have 2 options. You can hire an SEO company which concentrates on the plumbing business, or do it yourself. No matter what the choice, the results of many hours or hard work do not occur overnight. It is often known that the right optimization to your site can take long and is a continuous method.

If you take up the SEO trade as a plumber, here are some steps to start:

1. Look carefully at your existing website & check if it is informative? A site that has your contact information and a couple of sentences serving as a summary is not informative. Is the content up-to-date? If the coupon on your page expired two years ago, then your site is not up-to-date. Is there color coordination? While having a place that is soothing to read is not important for SEO, but will help if visitors to your site are welcomed by warm, appealing info.

3. Write relevant articles. A perfect example: a 400+ word story (report) on the steps in substituting a water closet whose title is "Water Closet Replacement" will finally show in the SERP for "Water Closet Replacement." Why would you insert an article on replacing a water closet since at the bottom of the article will be your bio which contains YOUR info along with your company name and telephone number?

4. Submit these relevant articles to several article submission sites. After they are approved, they will be indexed by the major SEs and appear on SERP's.

Again, these four steps are just the beginning. Search Engine Optimization is a never-ending process, yet alone, profession.
