FOCUS. | Torey'sThoughts Ep. 017 - Torey Howarth from Philadelphia

So on this episode we are digging deep and talking about focus from the memorial tomb in Washington Square West. The term "focus" gets thrown around a lot in the business context these days but I feel as though it is important to get perspective on what focus really is. The inspiration from my post today comes from "The Entrepreneur Mind" by Kevin Johnson. In chapter 23 (I believe), Kevin takes about the need for "Focus". Extrapolating on Kevin's points in the book, my daily life is filled with gritty focus. The kind many people can't relate too.

See every day we are met with ideas from others, internal thoughts, or happenings in daily life that give us an opportunity to accomplish our goals from a different angle. A way of possibly "doing it better". This presents a massive issue because those thoughts take away from our daily productivity by always trying something new. The underlying issue is if we are constantly tweaking (without calculated thought; AKA "on a whim") ourselves and our process it takes our attention off of the bigger picture and bigger goal.

An important realization I made a while back was that no one understands my goals besides me. They hear them, do not get me wrong, but they do not have the ability to internalize them and connect the dots to see how they fit in the larger goal with the degree of clarity I have.

As a way of combating these issues, I listen to what people have to say, and take the 1-10% of their statement I see value in and weave the concept into my business or life as I see fit. I can do this with more ease and speed because I know what I want, so I don't get caught up on the things that are outside of my scope. The problem most people run into regarding focus is the don't have the goal and/or care enough or have a defined purpose in life that propels them forward.

WHAT I DO: I save you time and energy by guiding you throughout the home buying and selling process.

HOW I DO IT: I connect the dots between what you think you know and what you don't yet know but need to know. The internet can make us feel like we know it all and don't need a real estate agent, when in fact what it actually does is it gives us much more information than we know what to do with. I blend my proprietary insight gained through many conversations, observations, and years of experience with what you already know to create a useful action plan to get us from point A to point B. For all of the moments in between those big moments, I rely on consistent communication to prevent your mind from wandering away, so we can stay laser-focused on the end goal.

WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT: My approach. I am a Millennial who understands real estate by internalizing why things work the way they do. By understanding the "why", I can provide insight on a deeper level and align you with better opportunities in any market. I get to understanding the "why" by working really hard and caring a lot about my clients and everyone around me.

ABOUT ME: I became passionate about real estate when I thought it was really cool people owned big buildings (Even cooler that people paid the owners of those buildings more than what it cost them to own it). From that day, I devoted a lot of time, effort, and energy to internalizing how to invest in real estate. Flash forward to today: I am not only continually learning on a daily basis, but i am also executing daily while paving my own path to spreading real estate insight and offering reliable real estate representation.
