Duck Lake in Highland MI

When looking for a lake home in Oakland County, Highland Michigan is a great place to start. Here are a few things you may want to know. For instance, did you know there are more than 25 lakes in Highland Twp. This is a great location, just 20-25 minutes to Brighton. Perfect for work commutes, schools, and shopping centers. If you and your family are in search for the perfect lake, check out a few I’ve listed below. These are awesome All-sports lakes, I’m sure you’ll love.

Duck Lake Highland MI; located in close proximity to all sports White Lake. Duck lake is a great alternative to White Lake.  Some people like Duck Lake because it is private and others like White Lake because of the White Lake Inn.  Duck Lake is also an all sports lake and is also large, at about 253 acres and 31 feet deep. Unlike White Lake, Duck Lake is private. There are no public docks, beaches or boat launches. There are a few canals on the lake, the residents of the lake have decorated one with safari animals; makes for a great adventure with the little ones! The homes on this lake are ran on septic and wells. The kids attend Huron Valley schools, and will have plenty of friends to call on the lake. This is a great lake for not only the kids but you as well. Feel at ease knowing this is a private lake, but that you are close enough to drop your boat in to surrounding public lakes.

Leonard Lake in Highland MILenoard Lake Highland MI has a unique history. The lake was formerly known and Curtis Lake; It was renamed in honor of Harvey Leonard’s family who settled in highland in 1835. Their descendants owned the land surrounding the lake. This lake a part of the Huron Valley School District. There are about 20-25 homes located on the lake and are ran on well and septics. The style homes are split levels, colonials, contemporary, and ranches. The lake frontage for these properties range from 50′ to 100′. Though, some are on double lots and can get up to an acre of property. This is a private lake at only about 28 acres large, however, it is very deep at about 75′ max.

Woodruff Lake Highland MI is in a cluster of lakes near the cross roads of Clyde & Milford Rd. In this cluster there are about 7 different lakes! Woodruff, of course, being one of them. This lake lies in Highland Twp, and the kids all go to Huron Valley Schools. The lake is all sports and is also a private lake, with no public access of any kind. The lake sits at about 43 acres, (the depth is unclear). The homes were built anywhere from the 50’s up to the 2000’s. Most of them are under 1900 sq ft. and Run on Well, and septics (there are someone municipal and sewer sanitary). Most of these homes have about 50′ to 165′ of lake frontage. These home typically have an average sized lot, but there are a few with 3+ acres. The fishing is great, you can catch: blue gill, crappie, northern pike, small & large mouth bass! Bring the kids to the lake and enjoy quality time in the fresh air.
