Healthy diet and exercise are not enough to help us stay fit. We also need to detox our house for as many as 500 million chemicals, including alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, or prescription or recreational drugs, live in our house trapped by the sealed or insulated walls. Detoxing the house can help eliminate these chemicals and prevent them from spreading. There are many more reasons why we should detox our house.

1. Improve air quality: Sealed or insulated houses are often subject to unhealthy air flow. The insulated walls work as an obstruction for fresh air from entering the house and for the foul air to pass by the wall to outside. In short, insulated houses are trapped with low-quality of air. Opening windows or allowing the fresh air flow when the weather is good outside can help improve the air quality inside the house and detox it from cannabis or tobacco smoke.

2. Improve water quality: The plastic water bottles (including the BPA-free ones) can contaminate the water. Replacing plastic bottles with stainless steel may help significantly. In fact, try and limit the use of plastic containers as much as possible.

3. Kill bacteria, viruses, and molds: Using a steam cleaner over plain water can help kill germs spreading bacteria, viruses, molds. The steam cleaner is a good way of detoxing your house as they may also help save from the expenditure of dry cleaning of carpets and more textiles.

4. Add eco touch to the house: Having green plants inside the house can help fight off many harmful bacteria. You can place indoor plants for fresh air, kill bacteria and improve the health of the house residents. The plants, however, may require extra care and some fresh air as well which is again beneficial for the detoxing the house.

5. Enhance hygiene: Having a house that is free from bacteria and cluster that may cause your living area look dirty and clumsy is a way of enhancing the hygiene of the house. People will be more than interested in visiting your place if they find it neat, clean, and hygienic. You can always use essential oils to remove odor from the house. A fresh smelling house is always a welcoming home for guest and kids.

It is extremely crucial to detox your house especially if you have kids and elderly at home. There are many detoxing agents available in the market that is both natural and safe to use. You can also use home remedies to detox your house. For instance, sprinkling baking soda on stovetops, bathtubs, sinks, and toilets can absorb the odors.

Similarly, white vinegar works on both odor and bacteria. You can use it for cleaning the toilet and glass. It doesn’t really matter and which product you use to detox your house unless you are getting the desired result. These days, we are so trapped in our houses that we need to do something to kill the germs and chemicals living inside our house as their presence can cause life-threatening problems like asthma and cancer.
