Local Realtors say Blaine, Minnesota has been steadily growing for years, thanks to an airport and 12-minute commute to downtown Minneapolis, and other amenities that attract homebuying commuters.
"The growing city of Blaine has a population of close to 50,000 and sits in the southern part of Anoka County just north of Highway 10 and west of I-35W," says Realtor Mark Claessens . "If you hop on I-35W you can be downtown Minneapolis in 12 minutes!"
Claessens explains, "Blaine has been in development for many years and is the home of one of the Twin Cities few airports, Northtown Mall (the second largest regional metro mall), and the huge Blaine National Sports Center. And now with the addition of the nationally-renowned Tournament Players Club (TPC Golf Course), designed by Arnold Palmer, there has been a spectacular amount of building and development in Blaine. The experts in our industry are predicting this to be one of the five top growth areas in the metro area during the next five years, and it is already happening. You will find older neighborhoods to the south, acreage in the north, and some of the most beautiful and expensive homes in the cities going up every day in the northern half of the city."
Says Realtor Dave Heinrich , "There are more homes on the market right now than there are buyers. Therefore the prices are coming down and there are a lot of good deals to be had."
About the market, Realtor Janice Krumwiede says, "Prices of homes have leveled off from the summer and fall market, but this is always true at this time of the year. Blaine homes tend to sell fairly fast when they are priced right. The average price of homes under $300,000 is $242,983 and sellers are getting over 99 percent of their asking price. The average days on market in this price range is 59.5 days. The average price on homes listed between 300-500K is $373,440 with average days on market of 103 days. Their are 26 homes listed between $500,00 and $1,000,000 with average list price of $623,546. Several of the higher priced homes are new construction and on or near the TPC golf course. Townhomes are also available in several areas of Blaine."
