OCALA, FLA. (August 5, 2022) — Classic Mile Park, a world-class horse training center, has entered the market for $37 million — the largest equestrian property listed in Florida. Positioned on 703 acres of rolling hills and pastures, a lush park-like setting surrounds the land — complete with 20 barns and 700 stalls; 122 paddocks and 17 round pens; 3/8-mile dirt track and 1-mile dirt track; an office with a two-bedroom apartment; and a main estate home with private six-stall barn as well as five additional employee residences. Located at 13750 West Highway 40, this one-of-a-kind property is exclusively marketed by Tasha Osbourne. The listing details may be viewed here

Originally owned by Fred Hooper, a well-known breeder in thoroughbred racing, the property was purchased in 1985 by Domenic Martelli, a real estate developer from New Jersey. An experienced equestrian, he initially planned a racetrack for the land, but it was instead turned into one of the first public training facilities in the area and the site of his personal residence.

Nestled among picturesque countryside, Classic Mile Park has the only 1-mile track in Ocala. Many renowned thoroughbreds have trained at the facility, including a Kentucky Derby winner and horses of a few well-known public figures. Lucian Laurin, who trained Secretariat, previously trained at Classic Mile Park, and the original owner of HITS, a hunter jumper horse show management company, spent several years at the center. Hundreds of horses come for the season with owners from Italy, Mexico and Canada. The property has also been a venue for many charity events.

Situated near the World Equestrian Center, the Ocala International Airport and area golf courses, the grounds provide numerous possibilities for development.

“This spectacular horse-centric property presents a unique opportunity for the discerning buyer seeking the ultimate in equestrian living," said Tasha Osbourne. "With abundant acreage, established facilities and a prime location, the offering has limitless potential for the equine enthusiast or a new construction project.”
