We've all been in this house.
You know the house--it has fantastic bones, location, and is in a great school district; but, the paint colors and home furnishings are awful! You know as a realtor, that any buyers will have a hard time envisioning living in the home with the bold (and frankly, bad) paint choices on the walls. Staging can fix the furniture, but the sellers need to repaint.
At this time, any good realtor will advise their sellers to invest in a little fresh painting with neutral paint colors. The nominal cost of having someone repaint will be minimal compared to the price cut the house is going to take if it's not updated.
But, what gray paint colors do you recommend?
Here are four designer picks that look good in any house:
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter--it's the warmest out of the bunch. It's fantastic for living rooms, bedrooms, and family rooms. It even looks good on cabinets. It's a versatile warm light gray/ greige. It's one of Benjamin Moore's most popular paint colors for a reason--it's fantastic and goes in any house!
My second pick is another Benjamin Moore color--Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray. It's quite a bit lighter than Revere Pewter, but still has plenty of warmth and beige undertones. It has quite a bit of green in it, so it plays nicely with wood tones and wood trim--great if you are trying to sell an older or historic home.
Next, let's talk about two more picks from Sherwin-Williams: Agreeable Gray and Repose Gray. SW Agreeable Gray is a fantastic warm gray (sometimes called a greige) that has less greenish tones than Revere Pewter or Edgecomb Gray. It looks fantastic in any lighting situation and goes really well with both wood tones and white trim.
If it's still a tad too warm for your (or your clients') liking, then consider Repose Gray. It's a true light gray and is quite a bit cooler than the other choices. It looks fantastic in living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms.
Any of these colors go well in any room imaginable and make a fantastic neutral color scheme for you to recommend to your clients!
