Summertime means long days, warm weather, kids out of school, and plenty of social events. One of those is the screens on your windows. You might want to open a window and enjoy a summer breeze, but it wouldn’t be much fun if you had a rip or hole in one of your screens. You certainly wouldn’t want a bunch of unwanted guests (bugs) getting into your house because of a damaged window screen.

Speaking of bugs, summer is prime season for insects to try and make your home their home. Experts suggest a variety of ways to bug proof your home, and many of them depend on where you live and what kind of pest is native to your area. Generally, though, be sure to keep areas dry and clean of food debris. That can be a bit of a challenge during the beautiful weather!
Check on your outdoor spaces
If you’re planning on enjoying the weather outside or hosting a party, you’ll want to make sure your outside areas are ready to go. That means checking on the grill to make sure it’s still working and is full on propane. You’ll might have to do some weeding or yard work as well to clear out any growth during the year. Having a space that’s clean and clear will not only look good, but provide the perfect spot to hang out.

If you want to spruce up your interior, consider adding some plants! Indoor plants have become popular in recent years. People are drawn to having something healthy, green, and living in their living space. With a plethora of options, there is seemingly a plant for everyone. If you don’t know where to start, head to a local nursery to ask some of the experts. Most local nurseries have knowledgeable staff who love to help beginners.
