Your fridge warming up while your freezer is still cold can be a big problem. You have to take action immediately before the stored food spoils. Here are some common causes why this happens.
• There is too much frost on the evaporator coils. When this happens, the air will have a hard time passing through. You can apply hot air from a blow dryer to defrost the coils.
• The evaporator fan is damaged and needs replacement. The evaporator fan blows cold air into the refrigerator from the freezer. It is usually found at the back wall of the freezer.
• Your freezer of fridge is overstuffed. Because of this, air cannot circulate well. Clean out your fridge and freezer, throw out old stuff and arrange the food inside in a way that the air can flow easily.
These tips can help you save a lot from costly appliance repairs but if these do not resolve the issue, ask for professional help.
