Handyman tools

Before paying for a handyman service to do the small repairs at your home, check out the list to see if any of the listed issues could be noticed at your house. If so, read the repair instructions and fix them. It is extremely easy and you will save a lot of money, so why don’t you give these tips a try?

Creaky Door Hinges

If the hinges drives you crazy with the obtrusive squeaky sound each time you open/close the door, it means that you’ve waited too long before fixing them. That’s the easiest thing. If you have WD-40 at home, spray some onto the hinges and spread it by moving the door back and forth. No WD-40? Ask your wife if she has vaseline for dried heels and elbows. The last resort if you lack the above two is motor oil. Apply carefully because it has more liquid consistency. Catch drips with a cloth.

Unclog Blocked Drains

Purchase a flexible clog tool from Amazon or ebay. It looks like a tiny snake and reaches deep inside the drain, catching hair and blockages along the way. It is the fastest, most efficient and cheapest way to unclog pipes, compared to the drain cleaners in the form of powder or liquid cleaners.

Peeling Wallpaper

It happens all the time! I hate unstuck wallpaper edges that’s why I looked for a smart and quick way to fix them. I found that with a bit of wallpaper adhesive and a knife the wallpaper will go back in place for a couple of minutes. Get a piece of paper and smear some adhesive on it. Rub it against the underside of the wallpaper and press it against the wall with the paper still under it. Then, carefully slide the sheet of paper out. You are good to go!

Fridge Repair

Sometimes you might spot that your food and beverages left in the refrigerator are not that cold like they have to be normally. Before calling the local repairman, know that you are fully capable of fixing the issue by yourself. Or if the fridge is larger - with the help of a friend, because you’ll have to move it in order to see its back (or bottom - depending on the model) side. This is where the condenser coils are placed. Occasionally they might get covered with hair or dust. They interfere with the regular working process, causing it to use more electricity. Vacuum the area and check if you have a special attachment to use for the purpose. If you can still notice dirt and hair, use the carpet brush to remove them.

Keep Your Hands Clean

Scratch a soap bar with your nails to fill the space beneath them with soap. This will keep these areas clean while you work. Moreover, you will be able to wash away any dirt and grease a lot easier after you’ve done with the dirty work.
