Perfect weather, endless attractions, beautiful condos-Downtown San Diego has it all. Add one more thing to the list, extremely dog friendly! Almost every restaurant that has a patio allows dogs. There’s just too many to list, I really don’t know of any that are not dog friendly.
One problem that new residents have is not knowing where they can take their furry friend to do the business. No worries, we got you covered.
The Park at the Park containsa mini little league infield diamond, trees, a statue of Tony Gwynn, and lots of area to sprawl out to picnic and play. Bring a blanket! The park is open from sunrise to sunset, except on game or event days.
Hotel Indigo, at 9thand Island is a great hotel and super dog friendly. A great place to stay for your out of town friends, but also a great spot for locals with dogs. Take the elevator to the 9thfloor and you’ll find Level 9 Rooftop Bar. Great views, but it also has a grass pad for the business. They don’t care if you just stop in and leave, it’s really one of those hidden gems.
The MLK Prominade is a 12 -acre linear park that runs parallel
with the trolley tracks across from the Convention Center. Plenty of grass spots along the way!
Pantoja Park, in the Marina District, was built in 1850 and is the oldest park in San Diego. It’s located on G Street, between Kettner and Columbia. One of my favorite spots, The Brickyard, is just across the street on G.
Waterfront Park on Harbor Drive by the Cruise Ship Terminal has plenty of grass spots and just a pleasure to visit.
Balboa Park is dog heaven! Nate’s Point, on the west side of the park just off of Laurel Street, is a designated off-leash area.
