Garage Door Wall Control Troubleshooting Steps

You can open or close your garage door with a remote control or wall switch. If the switch isn’t functioning, it could be defective or there could be a wiring issue. You can diagnose and fix this problem with some common tools. The steps are provided below.
1. Unplug the unit. Follow the wire from the wall button to the door opener and inspect for any loose connection at the back. Reconnect any loose wires you can find and look for any visible damage that needed repair
2. To diagnose a defective switch, you must pull it off the wall first and disconnect the wires from the back.
3. Same goes with the wires from the motor unit. Strip a ½ -inch of insulation from the ends and use them to connect the white and red terminals on the wall control to the equivalent terminals on the motor unit. The wall switch is defective if it doesn’t light up. Replacement is necessary.
