Non-heating coils on your electric stove can be a problem especially when you need to prepare lunch or dinner for your family. If the coils fail to work you can check on the burner, burner switch and power supply or burner receptacle.

The first step in this appliance repair is to check the power cord and power supply. The burner won’t get hot when it is not switched properly or disconnected. You can confirm if the switch is at fault if there is not continuity when tested with a multi meter. If you see that is properly plugged, the next you can check on the thermostat if it’s on the correct temperature. If everything is working, you can check if there are any blockages on the burner. You can check it by lifting the cooktop for any charred wires or burned metal. If this is the case, replacement of the coils is necessary.

Remember that stove repair should be done with utmost caution and if in doubt, you may opt to ask for expert help.
