Taking good care of your refrigerator is important because it keep your food fresh for a longer period of time and your beverages cold. The life of your appliance really depends on how you use and maintain it. Listed below are some ways on how to correctly clean and preserve the effective functionality and extend the lifespan of your refrigerator.
1. Clean the interior on a weekly basis with a soft cloth dampened by warm water.
2. To prevent odors, you can use a deodorizer or you can use airtight containers to seal in odors of your food. You can use baking soda as a cheap yet effective deodorizer for your fridge.
3. If you see thickening of ice inside the freezer, defrost it immediately. Turn of the thermostat and unplug the unit to melt the ice buildup.
4. Make sure that you replace the water filters and clean the condenser coils at least twice every year.
In case you need help in cleaning the coils or you suspect that there are broken parts that needs replacement, contact your trusted appliance service technician for help.
