When you open your garage door and the motor won’t stop running, there might be a problem with the limit switch. This problem can be very annoying because it makes a lot of noise.
The limit switch is the one that controls the travel of the door. It tells the motor that lowers and lifts the door when to stop running. If the motor runs continuously, adjustments with the limit switch needs to be made if it has shifted. The up-limit switch needs to be gently moved away from the garage door opener’s motor unit.
The procedure needs to be performed by a trained garage door repair professional for safety reasons. Repairing your garage door can be hazardous because it is one of the heaviest machineries in your home. They can further diagnose the issue if adjusting the limit switch does not solve the issue.
