You may experience problems with your garage door opener from time to time. One of these issues is when it won’t operate with a keypad or remote control. You can easily solve this problem in just a few minutes. Read on the steps below.
1. Test the keypad keys one by one to be able to find which exact keys are problematic. Detach the frayed wires completely then reattach to the keypad. Before closing the remote control box, ensure that the wires are firmly attached to the keys and clean the dust to avoid keys from getting stuck.
2. Inspect the antenna on the motor unit for any damages and make sure that it is hanging downward. You may also be out of range of the antenna inside. You can move closer to the door to check.
3. Reprogram or reset your remote control, same goes with the keypad. They can sometimes lose their programming which can result to door opener operation problems. If you are not familiar with the process, you can consult the instructions or your local garage door service provider.
These helpful troubleshooting steps should resolve your problem in no time and put you at ease.
