How to Repair a Detached Garage Door

Written by Posted On Sunday, 22 October 2017 23:44

Stop operating your garage door right away in case it comes off its track for it can sustain serious damage or injury. This situation is frequently caused by a horizontal track falling out of alignment. When this happens, the bolts holding the bracket in place will come unscrewed or the metal bracket at the end of the track will become loose.
If the track is loose or the anchors are bad, you can tighten the bolts with the use of a wrench or a ratchet handle with the right socket size. But before you do this, you must ensure that the rollers are still in the tracks. If the door has fallen on the floor, the best thing to do is to call a garage door repair expert immediately.
A dented or damaged track can also make a garage door go off easily. You can correct this by carefully pounding on them with a hammer and a block of wood. If you see a heavy damage on the tracks, a replacement is necessary. A repair is not recommended because their condition presents a serious safety hazard.
