Push Vs Pull: Which Do You Like?

Push vs. Pull marketing is about the sales process. Let's talk about human nature as it relates to sales.

Almost nobody likes to be sold anything. But nearly everybody gets enjoyment when they buy stuff. And because of the negative experiences people have had when they are "sold" stuff, most people don't consider sales as a career. They think that they will have to become some big a**hole to be good at sales.

That's a common misconception. But the best salespeople are the best listeners. Push Marketing doesn't allow the seller to LISTEN. If you know how to ask the right questions, most people will TELL you how to make the sale.

Push Marketing is the traditional methods of marketing that we all grew up with. Advertisers create messages and images and display them to us on TV, print media, video and radio. They spend billions of dollars each year on their advertising. Over time, they have been able to study advertising scientifically, which is a combination of mathematics, statistics, and psychology. Simply said, most sophisticated advertisers know that if they get their message to X number of people X times, statistically X number of people will buy their product. Knowing that, they have to figure out a way to spend less on advertising than the cost of the product so that there is a profit left after the sale.

That, my friends, is one of the biggest challenges in business. Advertising is much like casino gambling. You lays down your bets and you throws the dice.

Most advertisers are not sophisticated whatsoever. The do not fully understand their TARGET MARKET. They waste billions of dollars trying to sell steaks to vegetarians, so to speak. They print flyers, buy TV and radio ads, post billboards, mail post cards, buy print ads, sponsor sports teams, give away ad specialties like mouse pads, ink pens, scratch pads, coffee cups and other crap with their company name on it.

These are all methods that usually cannot be measured. Consequently, you cannot know if the methods are successful.

Pull Marketing is the opposite of Push. And Pull Marketing starts with the CUSTOMER. It is the customer going to the marketplace and PULLING out the information they need to make a purchase. So, to be the successful PULL marketer, a company OFFERS VALUE FIRST. Offer FREE articles, links, ebooks, and webinars that don't sell ANYTHING, but provide valuable information. The Pull Marketer establishes trust with prospects, and a customer LIKES BUYING from someone he trusts.

In Push vs. Pull Marketing, today's marketplace favors Pull Marketing. We do Pull Marketing exclusively, and that's all we teach to our team members. So, if you want a home business that is on the cutting edge of marketing trends, take a look at our business.
