  · * 250 ml of warm water. (Approximately 2 cups)

How to Remove Scratches from Glass 

  · Firstly, it is best to lay out the glass on a flat surface. Since it is easy to break or distort a glass while buffing it, it is strongly recommended that you lay it out on a flat surface. 

  · Next, you must apply a little bit of the jeweler’s rouge or whitening toothpaste on the lamb’s wool polishing pad.

  · Before you start using the electric buffer, wear your mask and goggles. Now, you can start buffing the scratch at a low or medium speed using the electric buffer. If your hairline scratch is small enough, you should also be able to buff the scratch by hand, using only the polishing pad. However, you must remember not to use too much pressure. 

  · Without removing your proactive mask and goggles, now fill the spray bottle with the warm water and ammonia. 

  · Spray the area where you performed the buffing and wipe it off with a paper towel.

  · You can repeat this process until all the scratches on your glass have been buffed out. However, if you are finding it difficult to get rid of these scars, it is recommended that you let the professionals intervene.

  · While the whole process is not so complicated, there are certain precautions that you need to keep in mind. Foremost of it is that you need to strictly avoid using abrasive household cream cleaners. Whitening toothpaste makes for an excellent alternative for polishing compounds.

  · Also, using abrasive papers such as sandpaper can result in creating patches that look a lot worse than the original patch.

  · Remember to use gentle pressure so that you do not break the glass. 

  · This process has chances of leaving a noticeably shining patch on the area that has been buffed. Thus, this method is best for application on smaller surfaces such as a watch or a crystal glass.
