US Economic Calendar for the Week of June 23, 2014

The calendar in this article provides important information for anyone who’s concerned with the future direction of interest rates while, at the same time, is trying to determine the current condition and future direction of the US economy.

This data scheduled for release during the upcoming week will most certainly provide us with actual evidence along with strong anecdotal clues.

The week is somewhat robust in terms of the volume of critical data points including indicators concerning the condition of the all-important US housing market with Case-Shiller Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM, New Home Sales on Tuesday at 10:00 AM and how the overall economy is doing with the release of GDP at 8:30 AM Wednesday to name only a few.

And, as has been the case for some time now, the markets will be watching geopolitical hotspots that have the potential for serious flare-ups with global implications.

Note: The following statement is not a mistaken repeat from last weeks economic calendar but reflects an ongoing and escalating situation in Iraq and vicinity!

On the front-burner now is the escalating violence in Iraq as the radical militant group,  ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), moves steadily towards Baghdad leaving death and destruction in its wake.

From purely an economic standpoint oil prices have been surging as there is a fear that this insurgency and any potential spread beyond Iraq could disrupt oil exports from the region.

Finally, in conjunction with economic data and any potential breaking news, comments from Federal Reserve members both scheduled and impromptu will be parsed by market participants for possible clues about the future direction of monetary policy and the tapering of bond purchases by the Fed.

Courtesy of Econoday this is the chart of the US economic data to be released during the week of June 23, 2014 along with scheduled speeches by members of the Federal Reserve. All in all the table has been set for what might be significant action in both the bond and stock markets.

Hallmark Abstract Service

In 2008 we opened our doors focused on two primary goals:

Number one was to be a title insurance company that would provide clients with a superior finished product that completely protects their interests for what will likely be one of the largest transactions of their lifetime.

Number two was to insure that the experience of working with Hallmark Abstract Service was as easy and seamless as possible for all parties involved in the transaction!

From the number of satisfied clients who come back to Hallmark Abstract Service time after time for their title insurance needs, the evidence bears out that we have accomplished these two goals in the past and will maintain our client centric focus far into the future!

Post 1984 MBA in Finance from the State University of New York at Albany that concentrated on the tax-exempt market, Michael became a municipal bond analyst at Shearson/Lehman Brothers tasked with following general obligation issuers on the city and state level as well as housing bonds secured by mortgage pools.

This experience at Shearson/Lehman Brothers followed by stints at PaineWebber and Citigroup provided a broad framework and understanding of the real estate and mortgage markets.

As CEO of Exeter Commercial which underwrote and funded commercial mortgage loans as a correspondent lender, title insurance played a critical role in both the underwriting and closing process.

In 2008 recognizing both an opportunity and need, Hallmark Abstract Service was born.
