Top 5 Home Searching Websites

Being a Real Estate agent, I can just fire up that old notebook and search the MLS for Alpharetta and Milton homes for sale. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy for the average home-searcher. Luckily though, these 5 sites have made it a little easier. Check them out!

1. Trulia

This is an excellent site to view property facts, value estimates, housing market information and search for homes. You can almost search by any description. House interior/exterior specifics, foreclosures, whether the previous owners owned cats. Well, maybe not that last one…but almost everything. This site displayed over 1,000 Alpharetta, GA homes/real estate for sale.

2. FizBer

Being a real estate agent, just the thought of For Sale By Owners makes me cringe…but, in this case, it’s ok. This site is an awesome place for FSBOs to list their homes and try to do it all by themselves. But, the great thing about this site is that it has a great housing search application as well. Not only can you search all properties for sale, foreclosures, but you can also get information about local schools, neighborhood facts, trends, etc. This site actually displayed 197 Alpharetta homes for sale and 187 Alpharetta foreclosures.

3. Zillow

I’m sure you and your brother have heard about this site. If not….then, let me explain. This site lists all homes for sales, as well as all properties period. Not only can you find everything on this site, you can also view a Zillow estimate of what they think the property is worth. This site is all about home searching. You can search by almost any criteria. Just don’t be fooled by the Zestimates….because they are entirely based on the current market, they tend to be off quite a bit. This site displayed 325 Alpharetta, GA homes currently for sale. Check out the secrets to increasing your homes Zillow Zestimate here!

4. HotPads

This one stands out from the others because it incorporates Google Earth and Google Maps. So, that landfill that you can’t see from the road next to that “too good to be true” house….yeah….you’re going to see that on this site. Also, if you’re into foreclosures, this is your site. You can search a Foreclosure Heat map and literally view foreclosures by county and state through color coding. Also, if you are looking for a rental…this is definitely the best rental home searching site. This site displayed over 300 homes for sale in Alpharetta, GA and over 500 rentals.

5. Redfin

I threw this last one in here reluctantly, but, it is a great home searching site. They claim to have 20% more agent listed homes displayed in their search compared to Trulia or Zillow. This site displayed 613 Alpharetta, GA homes/properties for sale.

If you happen to know of any other sites that are AMAZING that I may have left out....please share!! There’s nothing better than an easy home searching experience!
