Before removing the tiles in your house, you need first of all understand if it contains asbestos. No environment agent will tell you that 100% certainly.  Anyway the only possible variant is to apply to the specialized laboratory. You need a piece  of the pebbles for the test to ensure that the  substance is toxic and the removal process is necessary for you. Since asbestos is a harmful substance, the asbestos removal and abatement should only be done by a licensed company. You should never take a risk of the task of removing asbestos by yourself. Removal of asbestos can release asbestos fibers into the air. As a result the inhalation of the asbestos particles may lead to long term health problems and even to lung cancer.

So here I'm going to give you some instructions that you need to follow and which will help you to find the right company that will abate the asbestos without any harm to your health and the health of the people around you.

1. You need to contact your state health department to remove asbestos from your home. Your company will be required to comply the federal rules for the removal and disposal of asbestos.

2. Find an accredited contractor. You need to remember that it will be better for you to hire  only qualified and experienced contractor to remove asbestos from the tile of your house.

3. Make sure that your contractor and workers are wearing protective gear safety overalls, which is regulated during the removal of asbestos as stated by the  the environment, health and safety measures. Notice that  your contractor and working staff is  isolating the house  where they will work to reduce the spread of asbestos.

4. Keep the ventilation and heating system switched off during the removal process, which will reduce the opportunity of asbestos fibers to spread through the air circuit.

5. Tell your contractor to use a wetting mechanisms such as water spray for asbestos during removal, which will allow removal process be easier, as well as  prevent asbestos of being released right into the street.

6. Do not allow your contractor to break your housing tile. They need to remove all the materials in whole pieces.

7. Make sure that your contractor and workers will thoroughly clean the affected area after they will finish the work. Remove any remaining material from the workplace and make sure that you are ventilating the space a couple times.

8. Ask your contractor to provide a concrete and detailed plan of the process of removing the asbestos.  Examine your house after asbestos has been completely removed. Your contractor should monitor the air in your home, make sure that the inside air is free of asbestos fibers.

9. Stay elsewhere, such as the home of another family member or your friend  until the asbestos is not thoroughly removed from your roof.

I hope that these little hints will help you to be sure what you need to do first of all when you realized that you need to do asbestos removal.
