This South Shore neighborhood on Staten Island was once known for its oysters and summer homes.  Used as a fishing village in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, Princess Bay was famous for their oysters that could be found in prominent seafood restaurants in Manhattan and London.

The Abraham Manee House is one of the oldest homes in New York. Located at 509 Seguine Avenue, the oldest parts of the home date back to 1670 and have been deemed endangered by the New York City’s Preservation Committee.

Another historical house is the Seguine Mansion, featuring eighteen rooms and its architecture is of the Greek revival period.  The Estate is located on Lemon Creek, an 80-acre park of City and State-owned lands that have been left largely in a natural state.( Seguine Mansion )

Today you can find upscale single-family homes in excess of 4000 square feet and has been a sought after town. Real Estate in princess bay is primarily made up of three to four bedrooms single family homes. “Many homes in this neighborhood were built no later than 1939 and are relatively historic” (Neighborhood Scout). According to the Staten Island Board of Realtors Market Report, there has been a 24.3% increase in new listings, a 3.3% increase in closed sales and a 2.2% increase in median sale prices. (SIBOR )
