Rio Rancho New Mexico
Rio Rancho New Mexico is located just north of Albuquerque. Rio Rancho is the fastest growing city and is the third largest city in New Mexico. The population of Rio Rancho New Mexico is just under 100,000 as of this writing. The city moniker is the “City of Vision.” The land development company Amrep was heavily involved in the development of the land and houses of Rio Rancho.
Intel opened up a manufacturing facility in 1981. The facility continued to grow and in the late 1990s, Intel completed a large expansion. The facility was one of Intel’s most profitable manufacturing facility at the peak of the facilities operations. However, the work force at the plant has been dramatically reduced and the facility is a fraction of what it was. The work force reduction had a significant impact on the local economy.
Rio Rancho has been diversifying its economy over the past 20 years. Rio Rancho is home to many call centers. The latest project by Rio Rancho is the Downtown City Centre development. The development is located near the intersection of Unser and King Boulevard. Some of the facilities include the new city hall building, Santa Ana Star Casino, University of New Mexico West Campus, University of New Mexico Sandoval Regional Medical Center, Central New Mexico Community College, Santa Ana Star Center, and Hewlett Packard.

Rio Rancho is served by Rio Rancho High School and V. Sue Cleveland High School. Both of these schools are highly rated by GreatSchools.com. Rio Rancho High School was built in 1997. V. Sue Cleveland High School was built in 2009.
