Not always you have enough time while the warm weather to prepare your house for winter. Of course it is not the best time for house repair, but sometimes you need to find a professional company dealing with window replacement can offer to perform the new windows installation during winter. In this article we are going to discuss the pros and cons of these monkeyshines.

Advantages

In winter the demand for vinyl windows is much lower than in the warm period of time. This means that companies have to encourage their future customers. They announce winter discounts (somewhere between November and March), with which you can save an average of up to 10% of installation cost during summer.

The companies are also handing out gifts, such as means of maintenance for the plastic and others.

Another advantage is that during winter the windows will be made for the shortest possible time. Because it is not a season and companies do not have too much work.

In past years many company had a service of ordering the windows, for example, in January and paying for the installation in spring. But today this option is not really profitable for the companies and it is most likely that in the spring the price for windows installation will go up.

But this is another reason to install them in the winter. Most people are afraid to cool their apartment. However, experts claim that with the current technologies the work in one room of the apartment will take up to two hours. During this time installers will dismantle the old window and begin to prepare the opening of new one.

The most important factor while installing vinyl windows during winter is that the installation can be carried out at a temperature not lower than 15 degrees below zero and while windless weather.

Also after installing you will feel the effectiveness of new vinyl windows. The drafts will disappear and if not you will be able to feel them immediately and make a claim.

Disadvantages

Installation of windows in the winter is still different from the summer one. Firstly it is used a special foam, which is more expensive. Secondly the circuit is a little bit different. You still have to clear the passage to the window, to lay or remove entirely superfluous furniture. It is better to free the room at all from unnecessary things, because the installers first will try to deliver and assemble new windows in the room and then dismantle the old ones.

Do not think that the installation will be limited to one day. The window should stand closed for the whole day. And on the next day you they will come again to seal the seam and put the slopes.

In winter you should always think about the additional ventilation. If you do not provide good ventilation, while severe cold weather conditions the condensate can start to fall, windows will freeze and slopes will dampen. Choose a vinyl window, which has a built-in ventilation system. If there is none available, you need to buy a separate air inlet.
