Power agents Ida and Minette Schwartz have been dominating the South Florida real estate market with no intention of slowing down. The mother-daughter duo behind industry-leading The Schwartz Team were recognized in the 2021 Compass Club Florida Top 100 Producers, achieving in excess of $100 million in sales in just one year. Offering a multigenerational approach to their business and adding value to each transaction through their exemplary market knowledge and foundation of integrity–the duo has made their mark on Miami real estate. We sat down with them to chat about their success and what's next for Miami.

What achievement are you most proud of in 2021?

In terms of real estate, we sold every single new development in Miami Beach in 2021 and did over $100 million in sales. On a personal level, the fact that we took the time to prioritize a healthy lifestyle balance makes us proud.  

 

How did you grow as a team throughout the year?

We focused on what matters most: the right people, the right priorities, the right properties - just like we always do. We chose quality over quantity.

 

What did you learn about one another?

We learned to always listen to the other to make sure we are on the same page. This applies between the two of us, and everyone we interact with–from clients to other agents. Real estate can be a stressful process for all parties involved, and if you just listen you can learn a lot and make the transaction much smoother for all. 

 

Miami experienced an unprecedented year for real estate, what surprised you most?

We were not surprised about what some are calling “The Great Migration” to South Florida because we have always believed our city is the best in the world, and it was only a matter of time before the secret got out! We were surprised to see the velocity of sales and dwindling inventory push to a point where pricing in secondary markets outside of Miami Beach–like Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, Bay Harbour–went up as dramatically as they did in such a short amount of time. With the population growth, the city center is expanding and many are choosing to live outside of primary markets.

 

What are your real estate predictions for 2022?

In 2021, homes sold faster than any other time in recent history. In South Florida, the unprecedented demand drove prices up and inventory down to levels we have never seen before. We expect the demand for our market will continue to grow and remain strong–driven by buyers who want to take advantage of low interest rates before they rise, and sellers who want to lock in gains.  

 

What advice would you give to someone thinking about purchasing real estate in South Florida?

Find someone who you trust to guide you through the process. From understanding the unique neighborhoods to sourcing off-market deals and navigating bidding wars, you need an agent who not only knows the ins and outs of the market–but someone who has your best interest at heart and will make your deal their priority, no matter the price point.
