We live in a truly crazy world. People never cease to amaze me with the ways that they come up with to pay bills or to get ahead financially. There are millions of different ways people make a living or just make some extra money. A quick google search brings up millions of blogs dedicated to making more money.

It can be really fun to browse around the depths of the net and see what the weirdest ways people are making extra money from. I love to write about making money because my life changed when I started focusing on 'paying myself first'. Most of my early adult life, I bought into the 9-5 work day and my job was the only source of income. When you realize that you can make money when you sleep by starting businesses that don't require your constant work, things can change dramatically for you financially. 

I know many people don't believe that you can make money while you sleep, but it is totally possible. I have been able to earn $500 per day online while on vacation. I never thought that this would be possible a few years ago. Here are just a few of the online businesses that people use to make money. 1. Build virtual Businesses in virtual worlds - thats right many people are making money by starting businesses in virtual online worlds like Second Life. They make and sell virtual goods like houses, clothes and other in-game items that make them a full-time income. This is a good business because overhead is zero and the startup costs almost nothing. 

2. Selling Butterflies - Thats right, you can make a million dollars a year by selling butterflies. Some people do the same thing with Jellyfish. Crazy right? 

3. Sleep testing luxury beds - You can get paid to test luxury beds for companies. Easy work!

4. Get paid to drink and test wine - some wineries will pay you to test wines and blog about them - basically advertising but in the form of genuine reviews. 

5. Selling parts of your body - I am not talking about harvesting your organs! Did you know that you can sell your hair, urine, poop, plasma and even breast milk for substantial cash?

There 5 ways to make some extra money are a bit odd - but why not try them! You never know, you may make more money than you think is possible. Personally, I think that starting websites and monetizing them with ads and affiliate marketing is one of the best unconventional ways to make some extra money. We also like to trade stocks to make money every month, of course this is a bit more risky than the other ways to make money that we have discussed. The rewards for stock trading can be huge though, with the best traders making $1 Million every year without much work.
