I remember the day that I made my first affiliate commission online. I was sitting in a coffee shop in Seattle and I saw an email coming in that said ' New affiliate commission - $30'. I couldn't believe it! I was so use to only making money from a 9-5 job I didn't really think that it was possible to make money like this. I had written an article a month before about my experience with a stock trading education course and I had included a couple of links that led to the course. They were affiliate links which the company tracked and would send me a commission if a course was purchased through the link.

Fast forward a few years and I am making $15,000 per month with this unconventional way to make money online! The moment that I recieved that commission in Seattle was the moment that I realized life did not have to be lived the way that I had been taught. I knew that it was possible to make money outside of a job and that real wealth was made by leveraging these ways and building businesses. I even started a new blog all about unconventional ways to make money. I started stock trading, investing in real-estate and building businesses. The result was that I obtained financial freedom by age 33. I wish that they taught this stuff in school - it is much more useful than the most of the stuff that they emphasize!

I learned that there are so many unconventional ways to make more money. Here are just a few ways that I have used to make extra money:

1. Blogging - start a blog a make money from ads and by selling your own products.

2. Paid Surveys - Make a few dollars extra by completing surveys online and get paid for your effort.

3. Make money Testing Websites. You can make some extra money by testing the user experience of a website.

4. Freelancing - you can use your skills to help other people and get paid for it. Some people start doing proof reading for people or transcribing audio recordings. Some people start a dog walking business or teach English to kids in China. There are so many ways to become a freelancer.

5. Rent a room in your house - we did this for a year or so and we made a decent income from it. We had 3 rooms that we rented out for $800 each. This was a very form of passive income!
