The Peach State has plenty to offer to newcomers, too, with lots of reasons for you to consider making it your new home. Of course, it never hurts to have a few added reasons to fuel the tenacity of your relocation. In this Coastal Equities Delaware breakdown, we’ll give you the top seven.

First State

Delaware is historically called the First State. That’s because it was the first of 13 colonies that ratified the Constitution. Naturally, being first is usually better than anything else. So why not live in the First State?

No Sales Tax

You guessed it – you can save money by living here. Delaware is one of just five states in the U.S. that does not charge sales tax. So if you are looking to save some money, you’ve come to the right place.

One of the Oldest States

Delaware is one of the oldest states. It was first settled by the Dutch way back in 1631. It’s more than 400 years aged. Better than fine wine or even the oldest gin.

NASA Loves Delaware

The first spacesuit was actually designed here. Technically speaking, the state has visited the moon more than any other state in the union and all other countries combined.

We’re Famous

Lots of movies have been filmed here. Some that you may not have even thought of.A few include: Fight Club, Dead Poets Society, Beloved, and Failure to Launch. And let’s not forget the comedic classic: Wayne’s World.

We’re Patriotic

Delaware’s state colors include Buff and Colonial Blue. They are modeled after George’s Washington’s military uniform. It’s about as patriotic as you can get.

Not Crowded

Delaware has fewer than 1 million residents. They have no long waits at the DMV, and there are more than enough plots of land to settle on with low housing cost and excellent public schools.
