How to Entirely Control the Atmosphere in Your Home

Written by Posted On Tuesday, 17 March 2015 04:24

Not all of us has that special ability to make a home out of a house. Some simply have that inherited housing skill that isn’t easy to pick up, at all. You should know that this isn’t something that should annoy you – consider it to be a talent, and we already know that we can’t choose our gifts. This is why we have Google – it has the right answer for everything. There’s nothing more important than feeling safe in your own home. This usually implies completely different things for each individual, but there are some things in every home which you can fully control in order to create your version of oasis. The next five things could really make a difference if you devote yourself to them!

Comfy & Welcoming

You can put one of those “Welcome” door mats and consider your job is done, but that is not all there is to it. What makes a home inviting and welcoming is nothing else but you and your personality. So, what will make your home comfy is your devotion to it – it’s pretty simple for people to notice if your home is neglected. This doesn’t imply that it has to be messy, but it’s about the feeling you get when you enter. As everything else that involves creativity, this will require some brainstorming, as well. Take your time to think about what makes you feel comfortable – cozy chairs, huge fluffy pillows or scented candles, perhaps – and find a way to make it work. You don’t have to do it all at once, go slow and add an item from time to time.

Lighting – Fine-Tuning

A huge contribution to atmosphere in your home is lighting – I bet you haven’t really paid attention to it. Installing a few dimmer switches here and there will definitely make you feel more comfortable because you’ll be able to adjust it according to your mood. If you can’t catch a break from your busy schedule, you can simply get a lamp or two for now since they can have a similar effect. Coming back to your home all tired won’t really be so hard when you know that you can relax in your comfy chair, dim the lights and watch a movie, will it?

Air Conditioning

One of the more important parts regarding the creation of your own oasis is being able to enjoy it no matter the weather. A raging storm or unbearable heat – it won’t matter when you have your AC right by your side! When getting this appliance, I suggest to get a powerful one, because you’ll only waste money if you need to fix it with each season. But, having an AC is a responsibility, and if it’s not properly maintained, it can violate the air you breathe, and it can do damage to your walls. When you decide to get a good one, make sure you find an experienced retailer who is capable of replacing its parts, fixing its mechanics if necessary and treating you with respect. This will require some research, but it will also minimize the time you’d normally spend worrying about your AC, and wondering what went wrong this time.

Maintenance in General

A clean home is a healthy home, and a healthy home is a happy home. The basics of your hygiene aren’t the product you use, it’s the attention you direct to cleaning. If you don’t really have these habits, maybe you should make a list of chores divided into daily, weekly and monthly groups, so that you don’t miss out on anything. Besides, this list will help you start a healthy routine – did you know that if you repeat an action for twenty one days in a row, it becomes a habit of yours? It doesn’t sound too bad now, does it?

The rest is up to you. You’re in no hurry, take as much time as you like so you can finally find a way to make yourself happy and healthy inside your home. I hope you’ll find these pieces of advice helpful, and if you actually decide to apply them, I’d really appreciate it if you’d to let me know how it went for you. Have fun!
