Before & After: A Modern Home in Sandy Springs

Written by Posted On Wednesday, 06 April 2016 07:30

Sandy Springs, GA (April 6, 2016)— Karyn Watkins Feinberg with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Sandy Springs office closed on the sale of 245 Colewood Way for $620,000. The original listing price was $619,900. Hunter Kirkman with ReMaxrepresented the buyers.

The sellers of the home, Allison and ScottRowe, began the property renovations shortly after purchasing the home in 2008.

The modern trend is gaining momentum in the Atlanta market and homes that see proper renovation become extremely desirable. Many home buyers, such as the Rowe’s, are looking for the character of an older home, but with a modern feel. With limited options for an existing modern-style home, the Rowe’s chose to renovate an older home.

Over the course of one year, the Rowe’s renovated the dated property back to the studs without the help of a designer. “The home was marketed to us as a tear-down project,” said Allison Rowe. “It needed significant work, but we loved the character of the home, so we maintained some of the original features while converting the design to one that more closely matched our style.”

The open-concept home is comprised of 2,410 square-feet of living space with four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and one partial bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with recessed lighting, white quartz countertops, dark wood cabinets, and stainless steel appliances. Two living rooms grace the home, each with their own fireplace. The oversized dining room features a wall of windows, opening to the back patio. Each room in the home has been fully renovated to match a modern design.

“There is unfortunately a very limited supply of modern-style homes in the Atlanta area, but a high demand,” said Karyn Watkins Feinberg, sales associate, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Sandy Springs. “When a rare home like this one goes on the market, it doesn’t sit for long.”
