Scott Smith is an Executive leader specializing in SaaS businesses with experience in driving both organic and acquisitive growth. Most recently he served as President of the Andromeda Group Portfolio at Constellation Software, where he co-lead and grew a portfolio to more than 30 companies in Real Estate, Financial Services, and Digital Marketing technologies. He also served as the acting CEO of a multi hundred million dollar revenue business in the portfolio concurrently with his role as President. Scott focuses on driving operating best practices, organic growth, executing and integrating strategic acquisitions, delivering consistent net revenue and EBITA returns, and people development.
Scott now spends his time in Board and Advisory capacity roles assisting VMS and SaaS businesses looking to drive organic growth and scale, manage through significant change (growth, external market forces, internal business changes, acquisition integration, and people development), and improve overall operational excellence.
Scott joined Constellation Software in October 2015 as part of the acquisition of Market Leader from the Zillow Group. In his 10 years at Constellation, he was instrumental in developing a large portfolio with his business partner where Scott drove the Operating Practice while his partner lead the Acquisition Practice.
Prior to joining Constellation, Scott was an executive in the Market Leader business from 2002 and he held executive roles in all Functional disciplines of the company. He was a core part of the Market Leader team that took the company public in 2004; played a key role in the sale of Market Leader to Trulia in 2013 for over $350M; and successfully helped sell Market Leader from Trulia / Zillow in 2015 to Constellation Software.
Prior to joining Market Leader, he spent 14 years at Microsoft in Seattle and at the European Headquarters in Paris creating new business opportunities for the Windows operating system and launching internet consumer businesses including Sidewalk.com and HomeAdvisor.com. Scott previously served on the Board of Directors for the Warren Miller Freedom Foundation. He holds a BA in Management Information Systems from Eastern Washington University.
