Marco Island, FLA. (December 3, 2025) — One of Southwest Florida’s most cherished seasonal landmarks, known locally as The Christmas House, is now on the market for $1,950,000. The residence of Ron and Pam Spering at 1264 Whiteheart Avenue has become a holiday legend, famed for its dazzling light displays, handcrafted décor and heartwarming charitable mission.
The property is a four-bedroom, three-bath home with approximately 3,196 square feet of living space, though its charm extends far beyond its walls. For more than four decades, the Sperings have transformed the residence into a winter wonderland that draws thousands of visitors each year. The display features approximately 100,000 lights, two Disney-inspired castles and a handmade sleigh, creating a magical scene that captures the spirit of the season for locals and visitors alike.
A skilled craftsman, Ron has personally built and designed most of the decorations over the years. “When we moved to Marco, we had to downsize our display,” he shared. “Up north, we were on 10 acres, and no exaggeration, the display was eight to ten times larger than what we have in Marco. I build most of the stuff, so Christmas has been a year-round hobby.”
Beyond the season greetings, the Sperings’ efforts have made a lasting impact on the community. Visitors are invited to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the display has raised tens of thousands of dollars over the years. “I keep precise records of money raised for St. Jude,” said Ron. “Since 2020 alone, we’ve collected $91,430 for the hospital. The relationship with St. Jude is ongoing. Just last week, I received an early birthday card from my contact there.”
The Sperings have begun to part with some of their cherished decorations, selling more than half, though many of the custom pieces, those that fit perfectly around the home’s windows and exterior, remain. “It would be great if the new buyers kept up the tradition,” Ron added.
This beloved Marco Island property has been featured in multiple media outlets for its holiday magic and heartwarming mission. As the Sperings prepare for their next chapter, they said they hope the next owners will continue the spirit of giving, community and celebration that has defined this home for decades.
