3 James Bond Houses You Can Actually Buy

Written by Posted On Wednesday, 08 November 2017 02:41

Throughout his silver screen career James Bond has always seemed to have a penchant for hotels rather than homes, but there's no question that Bond has to live somewhere. It's alluded to in several films that England's most famous secret agent has a flat in London, and Skyfall reveals his family estate in Scotland (although it does get blown up in the final sequences of the film). So if you wanted to buy a house with a James Bond connection you might be forgiven for assuming it wasn't possible - but that's not necessarily the case, with numerous homes all over the world up for sale (or recently purchased) with strong connections to 007.

So if you're house-shopping and looking for a little touch of espionage in your next property, here are 3 James Bond houses you can actually buy:

Wellington Square, Chelsea (£6.5m)

Ian Fleming often alluded to Bond's London flat as being in a square off the King's Road in Chelsea, and Fleming's assistant John Pearson has since said that 30 Wellington Square is the most likely address for 007. Flats regularly go up for sale on Wellington Square (including no.30 last year), and will set you back £6.5 million. For that you'll get a five-storey Regency building with a west-facing garden, and the knowledge that you're a neighbour to the world famous secret agent.

The Manor House, Stoke Poges, Bucks (£13.5m)

In 2016 the Manor House in Stoke Park was put up for sale for £13.5m, offering not only a beautiful home, but a strong connection to 007. In 1964 scenes from the classic Goldfinger were shot here, notably Bond challenging (and beating) the eponymous villain to a game of golf and winning £5,000 in the process, before Oddjob famously decapitates a statue with his hat. Scenes from 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies were also filmed in Stoke Park, giving it an unmistakeable Bond connection. If you've got £13.5m to spend, you'll also get a rather stunning estate, including a seven-bedroom mansion, pool house, two lodges and a one-bedroom cottage, as well as 10 acres of grounds lanscaped by Capability Brown.

Two-Bedroom Villa in Goldeneye Resort, Jamaica (£1m)

In 1945 Ian Fleming bought a large plot of land in north east Jamaica overlooking the sea, naming the retreat Goldeneye. In 2007 82 properties were built within the 100-acre estate, and properties (including villas, cottages and suites) are regularly put up for sale. If you have £1m to spare and fancy living in this stunning 007-inspired retreat, you can get a two-bedroom villa in this highly sought-after resort.
