A more favorable work environment is the one which offers maximum benefit as well as the best working conditions. These conditions are numerous but there a few major design features which are essential for a comfy and healthy working office.

These include:

Create as much free space in the office as possible:

Do not squeeze your desk somewhere in the corner of the room where it is even hard to access. Your desk should not be placed in a 'hole like place' where even to get to your chair is a real struggle. The office should be easy to navigate and locate anything which you might be looking for there.

Consider privacy:

The office location should serve you conveniently. If it is a place where clients will be coming, you want it to be as near to the exit as possible. Also if you are the type of people who like total quiet conditions, locate your home office where there are no traffic or minimal movements around.

Secure your working environment:

Have some drawers which operate on a key and lock system since you do not want every person to have access to your private documents. They should only be open while you are around and closed while you are away. Assess the security needs in your office and later purchase your furniture but not vice versa.

Invest your money in a very nice chair:

The kind of chair that will support your back as well as offer a good comfy sitting position. The seat should not be made of hard materials since it will hurt you if you sit for a long time.

Paint the office with colors which are both welcoming and refreshing.

There are color psychologists who propose that some colors can evoke sleep for example blue and others show energy for example red. Green and yellow colors, on the other hand, are striking colors which are cool too and very valid for an office painting.

Despite the fact that the colors are beautiful, you do not want to look at them forever. Position your desk in a way that you can see outside. Either the office desk should be around or near the window. If this is not possible, the desk should be facing the door.

Choose office accessories which are welcoming.

For example, have smart pencil mugs, hide your bookshelves behind beautiful curtains, have beautiful and inspirational posters on the walls. Have hanging shelves to clear the mess out of the best corner desk.

Give your equipment and supplies a retouch.

Keep the cords together by binding them using cord winders, tubing or wire organizers? All the supplies should be well placed in an easy to reach place.

The lighting in the room should be efficient.

It should be put in such a way that the overhead and desktop lamps do not cause a reflection on the monitor. Neither should the light from the window cause reflection too. Natural light is better and should be used wherever possible. Design the office in such a way that it does not block away light.
